IMTC is a selective problem writing group that is dedicated to creating high quality computational problems with novel ideas. Every 6 months, we release 2 contests that showcase fun math problems to people with varying exposures to competition math, and to promote an interest in math among students aged 18 years or younger.
Our most recent competition was our IMTC Summer 2022 Competition, which was received very well in terms of its quality and difficulty. You can find the competition PDFs and solutions on our archive.
The IMTC team is different from other problem writing groups in the sense that many of our problems are created through collaboration between team members. A lot of our best problems are a result of the contributions of many people.
We are not necessarily looking for someone with experience, but someone is looking to and able to improve in whatever role they choose. While lots of prior experience will definitely help your application, it is not an automatic ticket onto the team. Similarly, someone with little experience will not necessarily be harmed by their lack of experience if they have the motivation to do well. We believe that if one is dedicated, they can make many meaningful contributions to our team regardless of how much experience they have had.
Applying to the IMTC team will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in whatever you choose, whether it be helping to program a new contest portal, writing advertisement messages, or creating new questions.
